ANN ARBOR, MICH. -- May 17 --Eiler Communications hosts Robert Darmanin, vice president, director of corporate relations for LaSalle Bank, and Rich Sheridan, president and CEO of Menlo Innovations, for a practical, tactical seminar on how to use public relations to grow your business on June 22. The seminar, "Insider's Look at PR: How Buzz Can Grow Your Business," will be at Automation Alley headquarters in Troy, with registration at 8 a.m. and program from 8:30-10 a.m.
Eiler Communications chairman and high tech PR guru Larry Eiler will present an overview of effective public relations tools, leading Darmanin and Sheridan into a discussion of PR tactics, including tips on how to use PR to increase profitability,
visibility and market share. The speakers will compare and contrast public relations and communications strategies based on their experience in corporate PR and smaller enterprise PR, providing attendees with relevant and effective information that can be used by businesses of any size.
Darmanin is responsible for ensuring unified, consistent and clear messaging to LaSalle’s external stakeholders throughout Michigan. His practice of PR dates back to 1989 when he worked for the city of Detroit’s Department of Public Information. Since then, Darmanin has worked with several banks as they have merged, including his current position with LaSalle Bank.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in English and Communication Arts from Oakland University in 1982. In 1987, Darmanin graduated from the University of Michigan with a master’s degree in Telecommunication Arts.
Sheridan has worked to form Menlo Innovations around the principle of building quality software and quality software teams. His work has sponsored many changes to the company and its existing teams, with his focus on improving the culture, productivity and results of the teams with which he works.
Sheridan, who was recently featured on the cover of Forbes, was named one of the top 100 emerging business leaders of the metro Detroit region by the Detroiter. He was also recently named as one of the PMI Power 50, the nation's 50 most prolific leaders in project management as selected by the Project Management Institute. He also has been a finalist in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year program in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
